Cycle Menus (MPL202)

The Cycle Menus screen allows you to create sequences of menus that can be used to quickly create menus for a calendar. The following sections describe the fields used in each part of the screen, except for the search tool, which follows the same rules as the Patron Search.

Note that once you have created a cycle menu, you may click “Create Menu from Cycle Menu” to create a series of menus using that cycle menu.

Basic Information

The top section of the cycle menu allows you to enter a name for the cycle menu, as well as select a session for the menus in that cycle.

Field Name Description
Description This field displays the name of the cycle menu as it will appear in drop-down lists and search results.
Session This drop-down list displays all of the currently active sessions created on the Sessions setup screen. The current cycle menu will only create menus for the selected session.
Active If this option is not selected, the current cycle menu will not appear in drop-down lists or search results.

Days

This section allows you to add or remove days from the cycle menu, which will determine in what order the menus will be added to the calendar.

You also will need to create one or more days before you can add recipes to the cycle menu, since each day has its own set of recipes that will be added to the menu. To add a new day to the list, click Add New Day.

Field Name Description
Day

This field displays the day's placement within the cycle; Day 1, for example, will be used before Day 2. This field cannot be modified.

Deleting a day that is earlier in the cycle will cause all days later in the sequence to be adjusted accordingly.

Feeding Figure This field displays the total number of patrons expected to be served on the selected day. This field requires a numeric value.

Recipes

This section allows you to add recipes to each day in the cycle, as desired. When the calendar menus are created from the cycle menu, the recipes will be added to the calendar menus for the corresponding days in the cycle.

To add a recipe to the list, click Add Recipe.

Field Name Description
Reimbursable If this option is selected, the selected recipe is being used as part or all of a reimbursable meal.
Servings

This column displays the number of servings for the selected recipe that are expected to be served during the selected day of the cycle.

When a recipe is first added to the list, this field will default to the value in the Servings field for that recipe.

Recipe Code This column displays the recipe's unique identification number, as specified in the Recipe Code field of the Recipes screen.
Description This column displays the recipe's full description.
Serving Size This column displays the recipe's serving size, as specified in the corresponding field on the Recipes screen.
