Use the Racial Codes screen to create, view, and edit the Racial Types that will be used on Patron Account screens. The page appears as shown below:
We'll return to this Search Form in a moment. For now, click Add New to create a new Racial Type.
Clicking Add New opens the Add New Racial Code screen, as shown below:
Use the fields provided to create a Racial Type name, Racial Code, and Sort Order for the new Racial Type. Note that Sort Order requires a numeric value. You can also use the check-box provided to set the item's status to Active or Inactive.
Once you have filled in the required fields, click Save to create the new Racial Type; click Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving.

| Racial Type | The full name of the racial type as it will appear on lists and on patron account screens. |
| Racial Code | The abbreviated name of the racial type that will be displayed on patron account screens in place of Racial Type if Racial Codes are being used. |
| Sort Order | The sorting priority for the item. You may only use numeric values when filling this field. |
| Active | Check this box to make the item active, or leave it unchecked to make the item inactive. |
Now, let's return to the Search Form.
Use the fields provided to narrow your search by Racial Type and Racial Code. You can also use the check-box provided to display Inactive items as well as Active ones.
Click Search to generate a list of results based on the information you provided. The list appears as shown below:
You can sort the list by Racial Type, Racial Code, Sort Order, and whether the item is Active or Inactive. You can also use the 
icon in the first column of each row to edit the item in that row.
Clicking the Edit icon opens the Edit Racial Type screen, as shown below:
Use the fields provided to change the item's Racial Type, Racial Code, Sort Order, and Active status. Note that Sort Order requires a numeric value.
When you have completed any desired changes, click Save to keep the changes you made; click Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving.
