Use the Patron Types screen to create, view, and edit the different Patron Types that will be used on Patron Account screens. The page appears as shown below:
We'll return to this Search Form in a moment. For now, click Add New to create a new Patron Type.
Clicking Add New opens the Add New Patron Type screen, as shown below:
Use the fields provided to give the Patron Type a Description and a Sort Order. Note that Sort Order requires a numeric value. Also use the check-boxes provided to designate the Patron Type as Student, Default, Reimbursable, Taxable, and Active.
When you have filled in the required fields, click Save to create the Patron Type; click Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving.
Important! | Fields marked with * are required; you will not be able to continue until all required fields have been filled. |
Field Name | Description |

Description | The name of the selected patron type. |
Sort Order | The sorting priority for the item. You may only use numeric values when filling this field. |
Student | Indicates whether or not the selected patron type is a student. |

Indicates whether or not the selected item will be used of no other item is selected. |
Reimbursable | Indicates whether or not purchases made by the selected patron type are subject to reimbursement. |
Taxable | Indicates whether or not purchases made by the selected patron type are subject to sales tax. |
Active | Check this box to make the item active, or leave it unchecked to make the item inactive. |
Now, let's return to the Search Form.
Use the field provided to narrow your search by Description. You can also use the check-box provided to display Inactive items as well as Active ones.
Click Search to generate a list of results based on the information you provided. The list will appear as shown below:
You can sort the list by Description or by whether the items are Student, Reimbursable, Taxable, or Active, by clicking the column headers. You can also use the icon in the first column of each row to edit the item in that row.
Clicking the Edit icon opens the Edit Patron Type screen, as shown below:
Use the fields provided to change the Patron Type's Description and Sort Order. Note that Sort Order requires a numeric value. You can also use the check-boxes provided to change the Patron Type's Student, Reimbursable, and Taxable status. Note that you cannot change a Patron Type's Default and Active status if these boxes are already checked. This is to prevent errors in Patrons that already use this Patron Type.
When you have completed any desired changes, click Save to keep the changes; click Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving.
